Historique :	L'ancienne église restaurée aux frais de Louis XIV fut entièrement démolie vers le milieu du XIXe siècle et remplacée par un édifice sans caractère de style bien défini sous la direction d'un architecte niortais Claude-Louis Chevillard. La paroisse de Beauvoir-sur-Nior dépendait du diocèse de Saintes et appartenait au Roi d'où la générosité de ce dernier envers cette église.
