Description :	Bois fruitier. L'autel en tombeau dit en balustre au profil de talon, est orné d'un motif central qui représente la colombe rayonnante, tête vers le bas, ailes largement déployées, entourée de quelques nuages, symbole du Saint-Esprit. La table comporte une corniche composée de moulures horizontales assez fines, enfermant une frise de niches supérieures de cannelures avec côtes, et alternativement décorées d'une fleur stylisée et d'un boudin vertical. Les éléments sont reliés entre eux par une petite bande ornée d'un besant. La corniche prend appui sur des consoles d'angle, décorées de chutes de feuillages que couronne un cartouche.

Historique :	Cet autel était adossé à un mur ou à un retable et il lui fut ajouté un fond pour le clore et en faire un autel isolé. il devait être à l'origine polychrome mais il a été décapé, poncé et ciré. D'origine inconnue, cet objet a été acuquis par l'Abbé Constant Grand, qui fut Curé de Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole de 1922 et à 1945.
