Description :	Cuve en granite de forme octogonale. Une cuve en granite de forme octogonale, présentant une rainure pour permettre la pose d’un couvercle. Depuis l'Antiquité, l'octogone est souvent la forme des cuves baptismales : le 8 est en effet le chiffre du renouveau. La Création a demandé six jours, suivis du sabbat ; le Christ, le lendemain d'un jour de sabbat, transfigure la Création par sa Résurrection.

Historique :	Cuve appartenant à la chapelle nord de l’église. Des travaux entrepris entre 1528 et 1531 augmentent la superficie de l'église : le sanctuaire roman est transformé en un choeur à chevet plat et l'absidiole nord est remplacée par une grande chapelle à chevet plat. Un accord passé le 20 mars 1531 entre la fabrique de l'église et habitants d'Argenton permet la construction d'une chapelle placée sous le vocable de Notre-Dame de Pitié au nord de la deuxième travée par Hardouin le Bascle.
